Submit classical tournaments to the CAQ for inclusion in our Upcoming Events calendar.
Use the form to complete the event details. Only one event per form submission or they WILL NOT be included in the events calendar.
Guarantee Against Loss
Motion: That the CAQ guarantee any GM or WGM a guarantee against won prize money of up to $500, $250 for IM or WIM for any ACF Classically rated event held in Queensland with prize money of at least $1000 for 1st and with at least $2500 in total prize money (including rating groups), provided that the event is advertised on the CAQ website and the player does not withdraw from the event.

Tournament Subsidy for Affiliated Clubs
Motion 8.1: That this 2024 CAQ Inc AGM recommends to the 2025 CAQ Inc COUNCIL that it supports CAQ Inc Affiliated Clubs and approved Individual Organisers with a $500 subsidy to run regional weekend classically rated Open Chess Tournaments OR with a $300 subsidy to run weekend classically rated Open Chess Tournaments in South-East Queensland.
That this subsidy be paid once the Tournament Entry Form is placed on the CAQ Inc Website and an application is then made to the CAQ Inc Treasurer.
For the purposes of this motion, Redcliffe, Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich and Gold Coast will be considered South-East Queensland Events and be entitled to a $300 CAQ Inc subsidy and all other CAQ Inc approved Open Weekend Chess Tournaments be considered Regional events and be entitled to a $500 CAQ Inc subsidy.
It is also noted that no CAQ Inc affiliated Club or approved Individual Tournament Organiser can claim no more than three CAQ tournament subsidies between January 1 2025 and December 31 2025.
