A FIDE Rapid, ACF Quick and QJ rated 7-round Swiss tournament.
In the heart of the beautiful Surfers Paradise!

Prizes: 1st $300, 2nd $200 3rd $100
3 x Rating Group $150
Juniors Under 1000 QJ – Trophies 1st, 2nd and 3rd
Under 8s – Trophies Champion and Runner-Up
Entry Fee:
$60 (GCCC Members $50)
Time control: 15 minutes + 5 seconds increment from move 1
Conditions of Entry:
All Queensland residents must be current members of the CAQ to participate in the event.
CAQ Membership can be collected at registration or paid in advance online on the CAQ website

Players without a FIDE ID must be Australian citizens or permanent residents otherwise they will have to register with their FIDE country of citizenship prior to being registered for the event.

Vega using Swiss Dutch FIDE JaVaFo
Tie Break:
1.Buchholz Cut 1; 2.Buchholz; 3.Direct Encounter.
Schedule:
Registration: Sunday 9:30-10:00
Round 1 @ 10:00 am Rounds 2-7 will commence once all players are complete their rounds.
Presentations: Approximately 4 pm
Forfeiture time:
15 minutes from start time.
Half Point Byes:
A maximum of two half point byes only will be permitted for rounds 1 to 5
DOP/Arbiters – David Esmonde IA, Mathew Smith NA and Marek Breeden NA
In case of a tie, the Tournament title will be decided on tie-break but all prize money for placings will be evenly split.
